17:365 Last day of August bento

I've been making bento's - or lunch in a box - nearly every day. Today was the last day of August and this is what today's bento looked like. Tomorrow we have the first day of spring! (for those of us in the southern hemisphere)

Rain + baby + camera = no photos

Ok so I've been slack and not taking pictures. It has been raining here every day for the past 2 weeks and rain + baby + camera is not a good combination.

I do want to carry on with the 365, even if it turns out to be a few photos a week taken on the same day. I will let you know on FB when I've updated.

I have not been well the past few days, but rather than post nothing at all, here are some flowers that I captured last week on my outing to the Wintergardens. I love going there to photograph, there displays change from time to time.

Thought I'd try something new. This is my second ever Bento box attempt. Made with fresh/raw food (I didn't have anything cooked). It was yummy! Miss A had a taste of a few things as well.

12:365 Auckland City Skyline

Auckland city skyline coming from the North Shore. I took this pic out of a moving car, as you cannot stop anywhere - it's all motorway as you approach the harbour bridge. The view is even better in real life, the city just seems to sparkle when you come from this direction. PS Click on it to enlarge for a better view.

Flowers are one of my favourite subjects (can you tell? :)). It was another rainy day so we went to the Wintergardens for today's pic. These flowers were part of some big lilypads on display in the hothouse.

Taken from Northcote Point, never really been down that way, but it gave me a good shot of the Harbour Bridge. Weather was a bit gloomy today.

6:365 Food!

Still going strong on the healthy eating buzz. And then there is the quinoa, tofu, salmon and a few other things. For a while there I hardly ever cooked so this is a big step in the right direction. Tonight's dinner was couscous with sweet potato, broccoli and roasted almonds. Miss A had the same, minus the almonds. Anyway, indoor pic this time as I didnt go anywhere.

5:365 Ferry Building - downtown Auckland

Busy day, but still managed to get out and take some pics. This is the Ferry Building in downtown Auckland. Most of the historic buildings have been demolished and replaced by apartments and office blocks but this fine example is still standing, it was built in 1912.

4:365 Pink Magnolia in bloom

Pink Magnolias are in bloom at this time. Trees full of these, and early spring daffodils we saw at Cornwall Park today.

We went to the park at Western Springs and saw this mother swan and her babies!

I splurged on a new perfume yesterday, really love this scent and I love the look of the bottle just as much. It's Couture Couture by Juicy Couture.

I needed one more photo for my photography assignment. The tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere is right here in Auckland, the Sky Tower stands at 328m (1076 ft).
